Bio

Coach Weaver began his journey into the catching position and subsequent instruction after he realized that there was nobody qualified enough to teach his 9-year old son who took a liking to the position (Coach Jay). 

Coach Weaver was a longtime special-needs educator, trained in kinesiology and bio-mechanics. His approach for instruction was always from that perspective, believing that teaching the "WHY" behind everything was of the utmost of importance in allowing his students to not just understand the material, but easily absorb the information and apply it to their practice efforts.

His ability to connect, motivate and educate his students was truly unparalleled by anyone in the industry. Anyone who had the pleasure of speaking with him understood his unwavering passion for the position, the students he worked with and for teaching in general. 

Sadly, Coach Weaver, surrounded by loved ones, passed away after a year-long battle with colorectal cancer at age 56 in 2011.
